K.A. Steel Benefits

Through a national infrastructure of distribution points, KASC has cut costs, increased efficiency, and improved the safety of chemical distribution. Across the country, KASC is making the acquisition of caustic soda and bleach safer and more cost-effective for its 1,000-plus customers.

KASC completes more than 120,000 orders per year, shipping more than 700,000 tons of caustic soda and 40 million gallons of sodium hypochlorite (bleach). With a national infrastructure and top-of-the-line transportation and storage equipment, we're equipped to provide reliable, quality-controlled, and safe fulfillment of each and every order.

Storage power: With 72,000 DST of tank storage at over 30 terminals, KASC has the ability to adjust inventories to quickly cover the swing in the marketplace --- so you can count on the reserves when the market goes short on caustic soda. No matter where you are in the U.S, we can be there, too, with prompt, reliable delivery of caustic soda and bleach.

Company-owned and leased transportation systems guarantee the purest specifications. If you demand high specs in your caustic soda and bleach supply, you'll want to choose KASC to deliver it. KASC leases 20 barge tanks in eight barge facilities nationwide as well as four rail facilities. By leasing our own barge fleet, KASC can control it's own destiny. Other distributors may use unlined, less expensive steel tanks to move caustic, which can contaminate your order with high levels of iron or contaminants from previous shipments.

Our company-owned fleet of 30 tank trucks and seasoned driving staff also provide quality shipments to the Chicago-Midwest area. This modern fleet of Kenworth T800 tractors equipped with rubber-lined and stainless steel tanks is designed to provide you caustic soda and bleach shipments with the highest specifications.

KASC has a long-standing relationship with Dow Chemical, PPG Industries and Formosa Plastics, three of the big caustic soda producers. When caustic soda is in short supply, you can count on KASC to deliver. That's because we have multi-year supply contracts with Dow Chemical, the giant in U.S. chemical production and distribution. When other distributors are coming up short due to allocations, we'll have the caustic soda you need.
